About me

With a twenty year professional career spanning the UK public and private sector, Mavis has worked with senior executives across the UK government and the energy sector. Mavis’s career began at the UK Civil Service where she worked in various economics leadership roles to support UK macroeconomic policy at its highest level. She is an accomplished writer, publishing various government macro-economic policy reports over the years. She has worked with high profile stakeholders across government including the Ministry of Defence, HMT, Bank of England and the devolved governments of the United Kingdom. In the private sector, her career has taken her to Shell, the Oil and Gas Authority and CHC.

Mavis’s coaching clients are typically in middle management and looking to take that next step in the competitive energy industry career ladder. She also works in partnership with executive leadership teams to help coach their high potential candidates via a talent development program and also to facilitate 360 degree reviews. Her goal is to drive more diversity in executive roles in the energy industry. She specialises in coaching people to manage key decision points in their career  – for instance finding the ideal job assignment, promotion or effective transitioning into a management role. She is experienced in working with individuals from various cultures & backgrounds and brings a wealth of experience to organisations looking to develop their talent pool.

Mavis’s attitude to client management was recognised in 2019 when she received the Press and Journal/Energy Voice Gold Award in the “Above and Beyond” category. She currently sits on the Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) Diversity and Inclusion Task Group, where she leads the product delivery of the group. Her recent corporate clients include Accenture, RenewableUK, Technip and Scottish Enterprise.
